Commissioner Soumya Agarwal Reviews State Exhibition at Magh Mela
Commissioner Soumya Agarwal reviews IPRD exhibition at Magh Mela, highlighting government schemes and the rich cultural heritage of Prayagraj.
Prayagraj : Divisional Commissioner Soumya Agarwal on Monday visited the Parade Ground at the Magh Mela area to inspect a comprehensive photo exhibition organized by the Information and Public Relations Department. Located on Qila Road, the exhibition serves as a visual chronicle of the achievements, welfare schemes, and developmental projects spearheaded by both the Central and State governments.
During her walkthrough, Commissioner Agarwal lauded the department’s efforts in creating a one-stop information hub for pilgrims. "This exhibition is a vital bridge between the government and the public," she remarked. "It ensures that devotees visiting the Magh Mela are well-informed about life-changing schemes like PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Ujjwala Yojana, enabling them to secure the benefits they are entitled to."
The display features a wide array of themes, including the state's Zero Tolerance policy toward crime, the expansion of medical facilities, Air Connectivity, and the vibrant One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. Large-scale panels also highlight the state's infrastructure milestones, such as new Expressways and the transformative impact of DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) for farmers.
A significant highlight of the visit was the dedicated section on "Historical, Cultural, and Religious Heritage." This segment meticulously compiles the spiritual and architectural glory of Prayagraj, featuring iconic landmarks like the Bade Hanuman Ji Temple, Akshayvat, Sangam, Khusro Bagh, and the historic Curzon Bridge.
"By documenting the religious and cultural significance of Sangam Nagri in one place, we are not just informing the public but also preserving the essence of Indian culture," the Commissioner added. The exhibition remains a major attraction for pilgrims, offering them a deeper understanding of Prayagraj’s legacy alongside modern governance milestones.
