IFFCO Women’s Club Ignites Hope for Marginalized Youth
IFFCO Phulpur’s Mahila Chetna Club distributes bags and funds tuition for 50 marginalized students in Prayagraj to promote education.
Prayagraj : In a powerful move to bridge the educational divide, the Mahila Chetna Club of IFFCO Phulpur organized a distribution drive at the Ghiyanagar Community Centre, providing essential school supplies and financial aid to children from the city's most vulnerable communities.
Partnering with the ‘Ek Pahal Shiksha Samiti,’ the club reached out to children living in unauthorized slums—families who often lack permanent housing. Many of these students were previously engaged in ragpicking to support their families. The initiative aims to replace those sacks of waste with school bags, steering them toward a dignified future.
While younger students received new school bags and study materials, the club extended its support to older students as well. Recognizing the financial hurdles of higher education, the club announced it would cover six months of tuition fees for 50 students enrolled in classes 9 through 12.
During the event, Sarita Singh, President of the Mahila Chetna Club, delivered an evocative speech citing the life of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. She reminded the students that while one cannot choose the circumstances of their birth, they hold the power to craft their destiny through grit and education. She concluded her address with the timeless words of Harivansh Rai Bachchan: "Success never eludes those who keep trying."
The program was graced by key officials including Secretary Kiran Badwar, Social Secretary Gita Singh, and Treasurer Neeru Saxena, alongside distinguished guests Nupur Parashar and Rekha Jaiswal.
Vivek Dubey, founder of Ek Pahal Shiksha Samiti, expressed deep gratitude, noting that such institutional support is vital for keeping these first-generation learners in school. The Mahila Chetna Club reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these social interventions to ensure no child is left behind due to poverty.
