Divine Reflections: Sharda Nagar Church Commemorates Good Friday with Solemnity

Kanpur :  The Christian community in Sharda Nagar gathered in large numbers on Friday to observe Good Friday, marking the crucifixion of Jesus Christ with deep spiritual devotion and traditional rituals. The Sharda Nagar Church became a focal point of prayer, where members reflected on the themes of sacrifice and redemption.

The service commenced with the church choir leading the congregation in soulful Christian hymns. The atmosphere was thick with reverence as devotees joined their voices to worship and honor the divine sacrifice.

A central part of the service was the meditation on the Seven Last Words (Seven Utterances) spoken by Jesus Christ while on the cross. These teachings were meticulously analyzed, reminding the faithful of the values of forgiveness, hope, and total surrender to the divine will.

Following the reflections, Pastor Deepak Morris led a special intercessory prayer session. He prayed specifically for:

  • Global Peace: The cessation of conflicts and the establishment of harmony worldwide.
  • National Unity: The strengthening of brotherhood and communal ties within the country.

The ceremony saw active participation from youth and elders alike, including Monty Singh, Sunandani, Parul, Oshin, Roshni, Akash, Jitu, Meena, and Aahan.

In a traditional gesture of communal bonding, the service concluded with the "Breaking of Bread," where all members partook in Bun-Makkhan (bread and butter) together. This act of fellowship served as a reminder of the unity and shared identity of the congregation in the message of Christ.
