Congress Hosts Grand Holi-Eid ‘Sadbhavna’ Milan in Sahson

Prayagraj : In a vibrant display of India’s pluralistic heritage, the Congress Party organized a Sadbhavna Holi and Eid Milan ceremony on Sunday, March 29. Held at the Amar Memorial Public School at the Sahson intersection, the event served as a powerful reminder of communal harmony, bringing together distinguished citizens and party workers from across the region.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, senior Congress leader Shekhar Bahuguna. Addressing the gathering, Bahuguna emphasized that festivals like Holi and Eid are the bedrock of India’s shared cultural fabric.

"The real strength of India lies in its Ganga-Jamuni culture," Bahuguna stated. "Congress has always stood for inclusivity, and events like these are essential to counter division and nurture love and brotherhood in our society."

Presiding over the function, District President Ashfaq Ahmed reiterated the party’s commitment to secularism and the equality of all religions. He noted that the primary objective of the Sadbhavna (Goodwill) ceremony was to unite every section of society, using the colors of Holi and the sweetness of Eid to bridge social gaps.

The atmosphere was filled with joy as workers from different backgrounds applied Abir-Gulal to one another and exchanged warm hugs in celebration of both festivals.

The program was organized by District Vice President Nisha Singh, who remarked that such celebrations act as a glue for the community. The proceedings were smoothly conducted by District General Secretary Sunil Pandey.

The event saw a massive turnout of local leadership, including Assembly In-charge Devraj Upadhyay, Dr. Jagat Narayan Singh, and several block presidents. Prominent female leaders like Sufia Bano, Urmila Singh, and Manju Maurya were also in attendance, highlighting the diverse representation of the party's grassroots strength.

The ceremony concluded with a collective pledge by the workers to carry this message of peace and mutual respect to every doorstep in the district.
