Beyond the Glitz: Sonali Raut Slaps Legal Notice on Bigg Boss Marathi 6 Over 'Deplorable' Conditions
Actress Sonali Raut sues Bigg Boss Marathi 6 makers, alleging scabies infection, starvation, and unhygienic living conditions in the house
Mumbai : The glitzy facade of reality television has been shattered by explosive allegations from actress and model Sonali Raut. In a move that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, Raut has reportedly served a legal notice to the makers of Bigg Boss Marathi 6 (JioStar and Endemol Shine India - Banijay Asia), alleging that the show’s environment was a hotbed for disease, starvation, and extreme negligence.
The most harrowing claim in the notice involves a diagnosis of Scabies, a highly contagious skin infestation. Raut attributes this directly to "extremely unhygienic conditions" inside the house, noting that the infection continues to plague her health even after her exit.
Rats in the Kitchen, Cockroaches in the Food
Sonali’s allegations paint a stomach-churning picture of the living conditions inside the celebrated house. According to the legal notice, the production team failed to maintain basic sanitary standards:
Pest Infestation: Large rats were reportedly seen eating groceries in the kitchen, which were subsequently used to feed contestants.
Contaminated Meals: During "Weekend Ka Vaar," food provided by the production reportedly arrived with cockroaches inside.
Sanitation Crisis: At one point, all 17 contestants were allegedly forced to share a single washroom littered with cigarette butts, food scraps, eggshells, and even dead rats.
Sharing Essentials: Due to a shortage of supplies, contestants were reportedly forced to share towels, bedsheets, and even razors and toothbrushes by the second week.
Allegations of Negligence and Censorship
The actress further claimed that her pleas for help were ignored. She alleges that she requested host Riteish Deshmukh and the cameras to evict her two days prior to her actual departure due to the severity of her skin infection. However, she claims the production house deliberately edited out these requests to protect their reputation.
Raut also accused the makers of a "breach of trust," claiming her confidential participation agreement was shared with other contestants. Furthermore, she pointed out that the house used second-hand, unmaintained appliances—including microwaves and dryers—bearing the name tags of former Bigg Boss Hindi contestants like Amaal and Tanya.
"I trusted the platform, but my health and well-being were compromised," Sonali stated, demanding strict accountability and better safety protocols for future participants.
While the makers have yet to issue an official statement, the controversy has sparked a heated debate regarding the ethical boundaries of reality TV. Critics and fans alike are now questioning the fine line between "high-stakes entertainment" and the basic human rights of the contestants.
