Lucknow : In a historic milestone for the global telecommunications landscape, Bharti Airtel has officially ascended to the position of the world’s second-largest telecom operator by subscriber count. The company announced on Thursday that its global user base has crossed the 650 million mark, further solidifying its dominance across markets in India and Africa.

According to latest data from GSMA Intelligence, Airtel’s aggressive network expansion and digital-first approach have propelled it past several global giants. The achievement underscores the company’s resilience and strategic growth in highly competitive emerging markets.

Reacting to the milestone, Gopal Vittal, Executive Vice Chairman of Bharti Airtel, expressed both pride and a sense of duty.
