Indian Armed Forces Prepared For Operation Sindoor Two Point Zero Says COAS Upendra Dwivedi

Pune: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi announced on Saturday that India's tri-services—the Army, Navy, and Air Force—remain on a high state of operational alert and are thoroughly prepared to launch "Operation Sindoor 2.0" should cross-border security conditions warrant further military intervention.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the historic 150th passing-out parade at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, the Army Chief clarified that the original anti-terror campaign is far from over. "As far as Operation Sindoor is concerned, it is still continuing. What we see right now is merely a temporary cessation of hostilities," General Dwivedi asserted. He emphasized that the military leadership is aggressively utilizing this interlude to optimize inter-service synergy and equip frontline units for 24/7 multi-domain engagements.

The strategic background traces back to May 2025, when India executed the initial Operation Sindoor—a massive, coordinated tri-service retaliatory strike targeting terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan following a deadly terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam.  Highlighting the complex demands of the modern theater, General Dwivedi observed that contemporary battlefields have become profoundly transparent, with round-the-clock technological surveillance making troop movements visible to adversaries instantly.

"Because everything is monitored 24/7, we must practice extreme caution regarding tactical deployment, employment, and the specific defensive measures required to shield our soldiers and border populations," the COAS explained.  He further noted that a potential secondary phase would expand beyond conventional land, air, and sea operations, requiring integrated mastery over cyber, space, and cognitive information warfare. General Dwivedi concluded by emphasizing that national unity and public trust remain crucial components of information warfare, stating that a country united behind its security forces will always secure a decisive victory.
