Telangana Congress Leader Mujahid Alam Khan Arrested In Advocate Khaja Moizuddin Contract Killing
Hyderabad police arrest Telangana Congress leader Mujahid Alam Khan and six others for the contract killing of advocate Khaja Moizuddin.
Hyderabad:In a dramatic breakthrough, the Hyderabad Police have exposed a fatal hit-and-run incident from last week as a meticulous, high-profile contract killing. Seven individuals, including Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Vice President Mujahid Alam Khan and his father, Mahboob Alam Khan, have been arrested for orchestrating the brutal assassination of veteran advocate and Waqf Board panel lawyer Khaja Moizuddin. Following the dynamic developments, the Congress party swiftly issued an expulsion order against Mujahid Alam Khan.
The targeted assault transpired in the early hours of May 23, 2026, near Masab Tank. Investigators revealed that as Moizuddin approached his parked car at 5:45 AM for his routine morning swim, a speeding, green-colored Scorpio SUV lacking registration plates deliberately rammed into him, launching him ten meters away.
The 63-year-old lawyer subsequently succumbed to severe internal injuries at a private hospital. While initial indications pointed toward a vehicular accident, comprehensive CCTV analytical tracking led specialized police units to intercept a key operative, Kishan alias Pappu, in Panipat, Haryana. His interrogation laid bare a ₹15 lakh contract conspiracy that had been active since January.
The hit squad had conducted extensive reconnaissance outside Moizuddin's residence, utilizing a secondary vehicle specifically procured through a ₹2 lakh cash advance provided by the primary orchestrators. According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, the fatal plot was fueled by a bitter, decade-long legal feud concerning the administration and immense financial management rights over prime Waqf properties in Malakpet and Lakdikapul.
Facing continuous, humiliating setbacks across multiple civil, criminal, and Waqf Tribunal litigations due to Moizuddin’s persistent legal defense, the accused family resorted to hiring contract killers. Police have recovered the murder vehicle, multiple burner phones, and ₹10.10 lakh in blood money intended for the hit squad.
