Lucknow : #SamsungIndia has officially unveiled its latest storage marvel, the #Samsung 990 SSD. Engineered as a high-performance, well-balanced solution, the new drive caters directly to the intensifying demands of modern gamers, creative professionals, and tech enthusiasts looking to supercharge their PC builds.

Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, the drive leverages the power of the PCIe 4.0 interface alongside Samsung’s cutting-edge NAND technology. The results are blistering data speeds that virtually eliminate bottlenecking. The premium 2TB variant clocks sequential read speeds of up to 7,250 MB/s, while the 1TB version follows closely at 7,150 MB/s. Both iterations boast sequential write speeds topping out at 6,450 MB/s, promising near-instantaneous file transfers and vastly reduced game loading screens.

Beyond raw speed, the lineup excels in random performance. The 2TB model delivers up to 850K read and 1,200K write IOPS, ensuring seamless multitasking and rapid application launches during intensive workloads.

"Samsung’s new 990 SSD is an excellent solution for a wide range of users looking to expand their storage for heavy workloads, immersive gaming, high-resolution content creation, and DIY PC builds," noted Tommy Kwon, Vice President of the Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics.

One of the most notable upgrades is its sustainability footprint. The new 990 SSD slashes power consumption significantly, boasting a remarkable 38% increase in power efficiency compared to the previous 990 PRO model. Furthermore, users can maintain peak drive health using the bundled Samsung Magician Software, which facilitates seamless data migration and real-time monitoring.

The Samsung 990 SSD is scheduled to hit Indian shelves in the final week of July 2026. The 1TB model is priced at an MSRP of INR 25,649, while the 2TB powerhouse will retail at INR 50,349.
