'Meri Awaaz': Loreto Convent School Hosts Inter-School Nukkad Natak Competition

New Delhi : The Hindi Department of Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantt., organized "Meri Awaaz"—an Inter-School Nukkad Natak (Street Theatre) Competition—centered on pressing contemporary social issues. The event offered students a dynamic platform to channel their creative expressions and foster social awareness through street performance.

The competition brought together vibrant teams from 10 guest schools alongside the host institution. The inaugural ceremony began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp accompanied by a classical prayer song, followed by the formal felicitation of the esteemed judges and special guests.

Distinguished Guests and Panel of Judges
The occasion was graced by the Principal, Alice Rose D’Lima, alongside the Headmistress, School Coordinators, and Sisters. The performances were evaluated by a panel of accomplished judges:

  • Vinod Prashar
  • Sanjay Tuteja
  • Sudha Sharma 'Pushp'

Special guests Sudhakar Pathak, Seema Raizada, and Sudesh Kadam were also present to support the young artists. The judging panel praised the participants for their exceptional stage presence, compelling dialogue delivery, seamless teamwork, and clear social messaging.

Competition Results
Following a series of thought-provoking street plays, the top honors were awarded to:

  • First Position: Mount Carmel School, Dwarka
  • Second Position: Mount St. Mary's School, Delhi Cantt.
  • Third Position: Montfort School, Ashok Vihar

Concluding the event, Principal Alice Rose D’Lima commended all the participating schools for their high-impact presentations. She extended her appreciation to the organizers, teachers, and student teams for making the initiative a resounding success, emphasizing the vital role of theatre in shaping socially responsible citizens.
