Vodafone Idea AGR Relief: Repayment Timeline Rescheduled
Government freezes Vodafone Idea’s AGR dues at ₹87,695 crore, offering a 10-year repayment breather till 2041.
LUCKNOW-Debt-laden telecom major Vodafone Idea (Vi) has secured a massive lifeline as the government froze its AGR dues at ₹87,695 crore. Under the new plan, Vi will pay approximately ₹1,144 crore over the next ten years, easing immediate cash constraints.
The major repayment of the frozen amount will only begin from March 2036 onwards. This restructuring follows a Supreme Court ruling allowing reassessment, providing Vi with the necessary financial "breathing space" to invest in 5G rollouts and network expansion.
