SBI Expands Footprint in Varanasi with New Tilmapur Branch Inauguration

Varanasi : Strengthening its commitment to financial inclusion, the State Bank of India (SBI), the nation’s premier public sector lender, officially inaugurated its latest branch in Tilmapur, Varanasi, on March 16, 2026. This launch marks a significant milestone as the 2,374th SBI branch to open within the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Shri Dipak Kumar De, Chief General Manager (CGM) of the Lucknow Circle. During his keynote address, Shri De emphasized that the bank’s core mission remains providing high-quality, reliable, and accessible banking solutions to all strata of society. He highlighted that customer service remains the "top priority" driving SBI's aggressive physical and digital expansion.

"This new branch is not just a building; it is a gateway to secure and modern banking for the residents of Tilmapur and surrounding areas," Shri De stated, expressing confidence that the facility would play a pivotal role in the local economy.
