BJP Leader Submits Memorandum to Minister Over Magh Mela Land Hurdles
BJP leader Rajinikanth submits memorandum to Minister AK Sharma regarding Magh Mela land allotment delays and transparency issues in Prayagraj.
Prayagraj : Rajinikanth, the State Co-coordinator of the BJP NGO Cell, met with Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma to submit a formal memorandum regarding systemic delays in the Magh Mela land allotment process. The meeting highlighted a growing disconnect between the government’s digital initiatives and the ground reality for religious and social organizations.
Digital Delays and Administrative Gaps
Despite the government’s push for a streamlined online application system, Rajinikanth pointed out that numerous organizations—including Hindustan Yuva Utthan Samiti, Savitri Seva Sadan, and Asha Publicity—remain without land or basic facilities. These groups, dedicated to Bhandara (community kitchens) and the propagation of Sanatan Dharma, reportedly applied within the stipulated timelines but have yet to receive their designated spots.
"While the government has expanded new sectors within the fair area, it is concerning that institutions providing essential spiritual and social services are still waiting for a place," Rajinikanth stated during the briefing.
Transparency and Cultural Concerns
The memorandum also raised a red flag regarding the vetting process. Rajinikanth expressed serious concern over the allotment of space to certain groups whose activities reportedly conflict with Sanatan culture, calling such instances "unfortunate."
He urged Minister Sharma to:
- Accelerate land allotment for all eligible pending applications.
- Ensure the entire process is conducted with absolute transparency.
- Prioritize organizations that contribute positively to the religious sanctity of the Mela.
Minister A.K. Sharma took serious note of the issues raised and assured the delegation that appropriate administrative action would be taken to rectify the imbalances in the current allotment cycle.
