#DharmendraPradhan Resign , Should be Anurag Thakur as Next Education Minister

New Delhi : In a dramatic turn of events, Union Education Minister #DharmendraPradhan has tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following widespread demonstrations led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. The development has sent shockwaves through political circles, with intense speculation suggesting that Himachal Pradesh leader and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur may be appointed as the new Education Minister.

Confirming his decision through an emotional post on his official 'X' (formerly Twitter) account, Dharmendra Pradhan disclosed that his resignation letter had been dispatched to the Prime Minister. Reflecting on his political trajectory, Pradhan highlighted his four-decade commitment to serving students, supporting educators, and pushing for systemic educational reforms across the country.

Addressing the controversy surrounding the medical entrance examination, Pradhan defended the government's swift intervention. He noted that the Ministry acted decisively by transferring the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to maintain institutional transparency. To protect candidate interests, the compromised examination was cancelled and subsequently re-conducted, alongside a policy shift to transition future medical entrance tests to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.

Pradhan emphasized that the peaceful execution of the re-test on June 21 and the publication of results on July 16 reflected the government’s commitment to fairness, allowing talented youth from underprivileged backgrounds to succeed on merit. However, he expressed deep distress over ongoing attempts by certain groups to misguide students and create political hurdles.

Referring to the intense agitation at Jantar Mantar and other regions, Pradhan explained that his step was intended to prevent hostile elements from exploiting the situation. He noted that his resignation aims to protect the future of aspiring students from becoming embroiled in prolonged legal battles. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, Pradhan stated that national service remains his top priority and pledged to continue serving the youth and the people of Odisha under the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

Anurag Thakur Front-Runner for the Post
Following the resignation, reports indicate that Himachal Pradesh MP Anurag Thakur is being actively considered to lead the Ministry of Education. Known for his administrative experience, Thakur is seen by many as a strong candidate to restore stability and lead key reform initiatives within the ministry.
