North Central Railway HQ Celebrates 77th Republic Day with 'Vande Mataram' Exhibition

Prayagraj : The North Central Railway (NCR) Headquarters in Subedarganj marked the 77th Republic Day with deep patriotic fervour and a tribute to India's cultural milestones. General Manager Naresh Pal Singh unfurled the national flag, followed by a ceremonial inspection of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Bharat Scouts and Guides, and the St. John Ambulance Brigade.

A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of 27 railway personnel, including five contractual EnHM staff, for their exceptional dedication to service. General Manager Singh, joined by senior officials and members of the NCR Women’s Welfare Organization (NCRWWO), released tricolour balloons symbolizing the national spirit.

In a unique historical tribute, the headquarters hosted an exhibition commemorating 150 years of "Vande Mataram." The display featured rare 1923 illustrations of the national song—designs also featured on Kartavya Path—alongside a history of its translations and gramophone records. A popular selfie booth themed around the song's lyrics drew significant engagement from staff and visitors alike.

The festivities were enriched by soulful cultural programmes. The NCR Cultural Team, led by Ms. Richa Pandey and colleagues, performed a moving patriotic group song, while "Tenderfeet" children and Scout-Guide units captivated the audience with choreographed group dances. Addressing the NCR family, the General Manager highlighted the railway's role as a vital constituent in the nation’s progress and infrastructure development.
