AU’s Rishabh Mehrotra Shines at Raisina Dialogue; Named Runner-Up for AI Governance

Prayagraj : Rishabh Mehrotra, a postgraduate student from the Department of Political Science at the University of Allahabad (AU), has brought international laurels to his institution. Representing the university at the prestigious Raisina-IE Global Student Challenge held in New Delhi from March 5–7, 2026, Rishabh secured the position of First Runner-Up with his insightful presentation on AI Governance.

The competition provided a global stage for students to present policy ideas on critical world issues. Rishabh collaborated within a diverse six-member international team featuring participants from Norway, China, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Chile. Under the academic mentorship of Prof. Amit Mukherjee from the Central University of Gujarat, the team developed a comprehensive project focused on the ethical and regulatory frameworks of Artificial Intelligence.

Upon his return to the University of Allahabad, Rishabh was warmly welcomed by the Department of Political Science. Faculty members praised his ability to represent the university on such a high-profile international platform, highlighting the achievement as a testament to the academic caliber of the institution's students.
