Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates Laxman Mandapam and senior day care centre in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, boosting local urban infrastructure
Lucknow : In a significant boost to urban infrastructure and social welfare, Hon’ble Defence Minister and Lucknow MP, Shri Rajnath Singh, is set to inaugurate a suite of new public facilities today, April 11, 2026. The ceremony marks the opening of the Laxman Mandapam Community Centre, a dedicated Senior Citizen Day Care Centre, and a modern E-Library at Dev Van Nakshatra Vatika, Vineet Khand.
Developed under the Samgra Vikas Yojna in collaboration with the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), these projects aim to enhance the quality of life for residents of Gomti Nagar. The event coincides with the Annual Day Function of the Gomti Nagar Jan Kalyan Mahasamiti.
The high-profile gathering is expected to include UP Deputy CMs Brijesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, alongside Rajya Sabha members Sudhanshu Trivedi and Dinesh Sharma. Dr. B.N. Singh, President of the Mahasamiti, will lead the welcome honors, while General Secretary Dr. Raghavendra Shukla will present the annual report detailing the committee’s developmental milestones.
A key highlight of the afternoon will be the felicitation of eminent personalities by Shri Rajnath Singh. Awardees include medical pioneers Prof. Satyendra Tiwari and Prof. M.L. Bhatt, space tech expert Shubhrasu Shukla, folk artist Malini Awasthi, and social worker K. Nambiyar, among others.
The LDA has erected a massive pandal to accommodate over 3,000 guests. This inauguration follows the recent successful launch of the world-class Gomti Nagar Railway Terminal, further cementing the area’s status as a premier hub of connectivity and modern amenities in Uttar Pradesh.
