#BMWGroupIndia Hits Record High in Q1 2026: 4,567 Units Delivered
BMW Group India achieves record Q1 2026 sales with 4,567 units delivered, driven by an 83% surge in EV demand
New Delhi : Accelerating into 2026 with unprecedented momentum, BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever first-quarter sales. The luxury automaker delivered a staggering 4,567 cars (BMW & MINI) between January and March, marking a robust 17% year-on-year growth.
The surge was fueled by a dominant performance in the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment and a massive leap in electric vehicle (EV) adoption. BMW's SAV lineup alone accounted for 65% of total sales, recording 2,966 units—a 38% jump compared to the previous year.
BMW remains the undisputed leader in India’s luxury EV market. The group delivered 1,185 electric units (BMW & MINI) in Q1, representing a phenomenal 83% growth. This success sets the stage for what Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, calls the company's "biggest product offensive."
"Despite global economic and geopolitical headwinds, we have achieved our best-ever Q1," stated Brar. "Our leadership in luxury electric mobility is a testament to customer trust. In 2026, we are launching 27 new products to maintain this pole position."
Key Performance Highlights:
- MINI: Recorded 213 units, growing by 42%.
- BMW Motorrad: Delivered 1,216 motorcycles to enthusiasts across the country.
- Long Wheelbase (LWB) Models: Continued to be a fan favorite, contributing to over 50% of sedan sales.
- Retail Expansion: Under the Retail.NEXT initiative, the group plans to open 19 new outlets across 18 cities this year to redefine the premium customer experience.
With a packed launch calendar and a clear focus on sustainability and "luxury of space," BMW Group India is well-positioned to set a new benchmark for the luxury automotive sector in 2026.
