Prayagraj : The Divisional Commissioner's office in Prayagraj observed the 77th Republic Day with a dignified ceremony led by Divisional Commissioner Soumya Agarwal. The event commenced with the traditional hoisting of the national flag, followed by a collective rendition of the national anthem that resonated with patriotic pride.
In a significant symbolic gesture, Commissioner Agarwal administered the oath of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution to the gathered officers and employees. This ritual served to remind the civil administration of the foundational values of justice, liberty, and equality that govern the nation.
Addressing the assembly, Commissioner Agarwal extended her congratulations and delivered a poignant message on the essence of democracy. She emphasized that while the Constitution provides equal rights to every individual, it is the collective responsibility of the citizenry to ensure everyone is included in the "mainstream of development." She urged officials to rise above the narrow divisions of religion, caste, and regionalism. "Every citizen must discharge their duties with full devotion and honesty to propel our state and country to the highest peaks of progress," she stated.
