Sikandra Congress Office Marks 77th Republic Day with Tributes to Freedom Heroes
Gangapar District President Ashfaq Ahmed leads 77th Republic Day celebrations at Sikandra Congress office, honoring India's constitutional legacy.
Prayagraj : The spirit of democratic pride resonated at the Congress Party office in Sikandra as members gathered to celebrate India’s 77th Republic Day. The ceremony, held under the chairmanship of Gangapar District President Ashfaq Ahmed, commenced with the traditional hoisting of the national flag and the distribution of sweets among attendees.
In an emotive address to the gathering, Ahmed reflected on the arduous journey from the "chains of slavery" to a sovereign republic. He reminded those present of the terrors endured under British rule and the immense sacrifices made by freedom fighters to ensure that future generations could "breathe in the open air."
"Today is not just a celebration, but a day to salute the great heroes who shed their blood for our pride," Ahmed stated. He emphasized that the implementation of the Constitution on January 26, 1950, was the cornerstone of Indian identity. He called upon party workers to take a solemn pledge to serve the nation by following in the footsteps of India’s founding leaders, urging them to remain ready to defend the country’s integrity at all costs.
The event, coordinated by District General Secretary Sunil Pandey, saw a massive turnout of local leadership. Prominent attendees included Assembly In-charge Nisha Singh, Sharad Upadhyay Munna, and Dr. Jagat Narayan Singh, alongside a diverse group of supporters including Manju Maurya, Md. Farooq, and Vimal Vishwakarma, all united in their commitment to the national cause.
