Medical Experts Convene at GSVM Kanpur to Discuss Modern Menopause Management
GSVM Medical College hosts 'IMS Gurukul' to discuss menopause management, hormonal issues, and clinical strategies for gynecology residents.
Kanpur: Under the aegis of the Indian Menopause Society (IMS), the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at GSVM Medical College organized the 'IMS Gurukul' program this Saturday. The academic session aimed to equip postgraduate students with the latest clinical concepts and practical OPD-based solutions for managing menopause-related health issues.
The symposium saw a robust turnout of approximately 75 doctors, including faculty and residents from GSVM, Government Medical College (Kannauj), and Rama Medical College (Kanpur). Renowned experts Dr. Kiran Pandey, Dr. Renu Gupta, and Dr. Shaili Agarwal delivered insightful lectures focusing on hormonal imbalances, long-term health implications, and advanced treatment strategies for menopausal women.
Key Highlights:
- Book Launch: A clinical guidebook titled “MEC OPD Essentials,” authored by Dr. Kiran Pandey, was officially released and distributed to participants as a resource for outpatient care.
- Academic Quiz: To encourage learning, a quiz was held for PG students where Dr. Palak Taneja and Dr. Hera Khan secured the first position.
The event was graced by HOD Dr. Neena Gupta, alongside Dr. Seema Dwivedi, Dr. Sheela Sharma, and other senior faculty. The proceedings were seamlessly conducted by Dr. Pavika Lal, Dr. Divya Dwivedi, and Dr. Rashmi Yadav.
