Government initiates recruitment of 3468 teachers for CBSE affiliated state schools

Shimla: In a decisive step toward upgrading the academic framework and transforming the region into a premier educational hub, Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur announced that the recruitment process for 3,468 teaching positions is actively underway. These vacancies are specifically designated for government schools that have recently transitioned or are transitioning to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliation.  According to the official department review, the extensive recruitment drive includes 2,668 regular positions spanning 19 different subject categories. Requisitions for these permanent posts have already been officially forwarded to the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog in Hamirpur for streamlined processing. The hiring pipeline encompasses a vast array of specialized disciplines, including Science, Commerce, Economics, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Sanskrit, and Physical Education.  "Our priority is to rapidly elevate institutional standards. By placing qualified educators in these upgraded institutions, we ensure that students in government sectors receive a competitive, world-class education," Minister Rohit Thakur stated.  In tandem with the regular selection process, the government has moved swiftly to address immediate academic shortages by engaging 800 temporary teachers specifically for core subjects—400 for English and 400 for Mathematics. A vast majority of these educators have already joined their respective institutions to maintain classroom continuity. Currently, out of 158 government schools approved for the upgraded framework, 146 have successfully secured formal CBSE affiliation. Alongside the workforce expansion, the state is bolstering its infrastructure by upgrading digital networks through BSNL and deploying thousands of learning tablets under student welfare schemes.
