Canara Bank Organises Agriculture Loan Camp in Mohanlalganj

Lucknow: Canara Bank’s Mohanlalganj branch organised a major agriculture loan camp on Thursday in collaboration with other rural branches and the Gram Panchayat Bhawan in Gadiyana, Mohanlalganj. The initiative aimed to create awareness among farmers about agricultural credit facilities and various government-sponsored schemes.

The camp focused on key financial facilities including Kisan Credit Cards, dairy loans, fisheries loans, crop insurance and subsidised schemes implemented by the Agriculture Department. Bank officials explained how farmers could use these facilities to support farming and allied activities.

Ved Prakash, Deputy General Manager at Canara Bank’s Lucknow Circle Office, highlighted the bank’s achievements in the agricultural sector in the district. He also briefed farmers about different loan products and financial support available for agricultural activities.

Sumi Chandran MB, Assistant General Manager at Canara Bank’s Lucknow-I Regional Office, provided detailed information about Kisan Credit Cards, dairy loans and agricultural processing schemes. She encouraged farmers to make greater use of these facilities to expand their farming operations and related activities.

Block Development Officer Shiv Kumar also participated in the programme and educated farmers about government infrastructure schemes related to agriculture as well as the importance of financial literacy.

A large number of farmers attended the camp, along with Gram Pradhans from different villages. Officials also explained various government agricultural schemes and the process of accessing financial assistance.

During the camp, agricultural loans worth a total of ₹1.25 crore were distributed among around 50 farmers. In addition, nearly 200 farmers were recognised with umbrellas, plants and mementoes as a gesture of appreciation and encouragement.

Officials urged farmers to make maximum use of formal banking facilities and government-supported agricultural programmes to improve farm productivity, increase income and contribute to overall rural development.

The camp also served as a platform for direct interaction between farmers, bank officials and local administration, helping participants understand the financial resources available for agriculture and allied sectors.
