#CMYogiAdityanath Announces Major Perks for PRD Cadre: Daily Allowance Raised to ₹600, Cashless Health Cover Launched

Gorakhpur : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced significant welfare measures for the Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) volunteers. Speaking at a state-level PRD jawans conference held at the Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister praised the force for maintaining law and order, managing traffic, assisting during natural disasters, and ensuring safety at grand events like Mahakumbh, Deepotsav, and Dev Deepawali.

During the event, CM Yogi announced a daily duty allowance hike for PRD personnel from ₹500 to ₹600 per day. Tracing the history of the cadre’s remuneration, he noted that PRD volunteers received a mere ₹250 per day until 2019. The current increase represents a growth of over 100 percent in just eight years, reflecting the government's commitment to boosting the cadre's efficiency, dignity, and working conditions.

In another major welfare initiative, the Chief Minister launched the 'Mukhyamantri PRD Cashless Medical Scheme' by personally distributing cashless healthcare cards to volunteers. Over 31,000 PRD jawans and their families across the state will benefit from free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh annually in government and empanelled private hospitals. CM Yogi emphasized that this scheme serves as a token of public gratitude for the volunteers' selfless service and unwavering discipline.

Furthermore, CM Yogi laid the foundation stone via remote control for a modern multi-story PRD barracks to be constructed at Parvar Paschim in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, at an estimated cost of ₹23 crore. Modernization initiatives for PRD also include expanding 821 rural and 11 urban companies, updating digital management portals, and conducting specialized 45-day initial and 15-day refresher training programs in disaster response and civic security.

The Chief Minister asserted that Uttar Pradesh has transformed from a state plagued by lawlessness and economic stagnation into the growth engine of India's economy. State Minister for PRD (Independent Charge) Somendra Tomar, along with several legislators and senior administration officials, attended the historic conference.
