Retired Bankers Lead Tree Plantation Drive in Lucknow to Mark Bank Nationalization Day
AIBPRC celebrates Bank Nationalization Day in Lucknow with a massive 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' tree plantation drive across three locations.
A Multi-Location Green Footprint
The ecological campaign rolled out in phases across the city to maximize community engagement:
- Phase 1: Commenced at Sector I, LDA Colony (Kanpur Road).
- Phase 2: Moved to Sadbhavana Park in Sector M, Ashiana, where local Councilor Kamlesh Singh joined the volunteers to support the cause.
- Phase 3: Concluded with a final leg at 5:00 PM at "Apna Park" in Paper Mill Colony, organized in close collaboration with the social group Maitri Sanstha.
The entire initiative was spearheaded by AIBPRC State Unit President R.S. Verma and State Secretary R.K. Verma.
Community Collaboration
The event served as a model for community-driven environmental action, bringing together veteran financial professionals and social workers.
Prominent participants from the All India Bank Pensioners Association included Salil Chandra, A.C. Jaitly, T.S. Gautam, Sarva Mitra Bhatt, H.S. Rawat, Deep Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Rajiv Khanna, B.P. Sharma, and Arun Sharma. Joining them from Maitri Sanstha were Mrs. Manju Sharma, Mrs. Neera Pandey, Som Chatterjee, Reena Saxena, Manju Rawat, Vipin Saxena, Anup Pandey, Sandeep Chatterjee, Ashok Mishra, and J.P. Singh.
Following the successful plantation of saplings, the event wrapped up on a warm note. Against the backdrop of a pleasant evening breeze and a gentle drizzle, Hamendra Singh Rawat arranged refreshments, allowing the volunteers to unwind over hot tea and samosas.
