Delhi Police Tightens Security Around Jantar Mantar Maintaining Strict Surveillance At Metro Hubs

New Delhi : Law enforcement agencies in the national capital have significantly scaled up perimeter security surrounding Jantar Mantar while enforcing strict, round-the-clock surveillance across four key central metro stations to prevent unauthorized gatherings in high-security zones.Following recent scuffles during student-led demonstrations over examination governance, the Delhi Police and paramilitary contingents established multi-layered barricading along all entry and exit corridors leading to the central protest site.

Heavy deployments of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and anti-riot units equipped with water cannon vehicles have been stationed along Parliament Street, Janpath, and Connaught Outer Circle.Simultaneously, security personnel maintained heightened vigil inside and around four vital transit hubs—Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, and Janpath Metro Stations.

Senior police officers coordinated closely with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) units and Delhi Metro staff to manage passenger flow, conduct random baggage screenings, and regulate access points whenever crowd density spiked near station gates.  Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) remain actively enforced across the New Delhi district, strictly prohibiting assembly of five or more persons outside designated protest zones. \

District police officials emphasized that while peaceful assembly at permitted sites is respected, strict action will be initiated against attempts to breach security cordons toward parliamentary installations. Commuters navigating central routes have been advised to track live transport advisories as surveillance pickets continue checking incoming traffic at strategic intersections.
