Promotions Unlocked in HP Secretariat: 15 Senior Assistants Elevated to Superintendent Grade-II

Shimla : In a significant administrative development, the Himachal Pradesh Personnel Department has officially cleared the promotion track for secretariat staff waiting for career advancement. Through a office order issued by Secretariat Administration Services-I on August 7, 2026, 15 Senior Assistants have been promoted to the post of Superintendent Grade-II on a regular basis with immediate effect.

The elevated employees will now transition into Pay Level-12, placing their revised pay scale between ₹43,000 and ₹1,36,000. Alongside the upgraded salary band, the officers will receive an additional Secretariat Pay of ₹2,400 per month. Under the provisions of Fundamental Rule (F.R.) 22, the promoted personnel have been given an option to exercise their choice for pay fixation within one month from the issuance of the order.

According to the departmental order based on the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) recommendations, the promoted officers include Yoginder Singh, Krishan Singh Mankotia, Jagjiwan Ram Sharma, Lekh Ram, Anil Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Vinod Kumar, Tek Chand, Sunit Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Parveen Singh, Vivek Sharma, Nageshwar Chand, Jagat Ram, and Jagdish Chand.

All newly appointed Superintendents Grade-II will remain on probation for a period of two years or until their retirement, whichever comes earlier.

However, the state government has embedded a vital conditional clause in the promotion directive. The final status of these promotions remains strictly subject to the ultimate outcome of CWP No. 11395/2025 (Nitin Chauhan & Others Vs State of HP) currently pending before the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, as well as subsequent decisions taken by the state government regarding the matter.
