Girls’ High School & College Marks 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour

Prayagraj : The historic campus of Girls' High School & College (GHS) radiated with national pride as students and faculty gathered to celebrate India’s 77th Republic Day. The solemn occasion began with the ceremonial unfurling of the Tricolour by the Chief Guest, Mrs. N. Dayal, accompanied by the Principal, Rev. Dr. (Mrs) V. Eusebius, as the strains of the National Anthem unified the assembly in a moment of deep reverence.

In a stirring keynote address, Principal Dr. Eusebius reflected on the architectural beauty of the Indian Constitution. She specifically highlighted the pillars of the Preamble—Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, and Republic—urging the young audience to transition from passive observers to responsible citizens. She emphasized that the true tribute to India’s heritage lies in sincere duty and fostering national unity.

The cultural segment of the morning was headlined by the School Choir’s soulful performance of “Saare Jahan Se Achha,” which served as a melodic reminder of India’s diverse yet integrated identity. Leadership voices also took center stage, with Head Girl Ananya and Junior Head Girl Edna Stuti Tigga delivering eloquent speeches on the pivotal role of the youth in nation-building.

The day’s proceedings reached a graceful conclusion with a special prayer for the nation’s prosperity by Mrs. D. Barker and a formal Vote of Thanks by Mrs. S. Saxena, leaving the GHS community inspired to uphold the democratic values of the republic.
