Rajbhar Drops Big Hint on Impending Samajwadi Party Split
UP Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar claims a "red" leader from "Rebel Ballia" will head the imminent Samajwadi Party split.
Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has intensified his claims of an impending split within the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP). Dropping a massive hint about who would lead the rebellion, Rajbhar stated that a "red" leader from Uttar Pradesh's "Rebel Land" of Ballia is set to head the dissident faction of MPs.
Taking to social media platform X, the NDA ally alleged that internal resentment peaked following a recent Brahmin conference organized by the SP. Rajbhar claimed the event insulted the community, deeply hurting a prominent leader from Ballia, which has now poured "ghee into the fire.
The plan was already in place, but recent incidents have expedited it. The split is definitely going to happen," Rajbhar warned, advising Akhilesh Yadav to launch a "Save Our MPs" campaign and personally apologize to disgruntled leaders instead of focusing on social media politics.
The SBSP chief had previously stirred the political pot by claiming senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to secure a compromise over ongoing corruption investigations, including the mining and Gomti Riverfront scams. Rajbhar asserted that mounting legal pressure has made several SP leaders anxious to defect to the BJP. Backing Rajbhar's claims, UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya asserted that nearly 25 to 26 opposition MPs are ready to break away on their own ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has strongly dismissed the allegations as a diversionary tactic. Terming Rajbhar a BJP mouthpiece, Akhilesh Yadav hit back, stating the SP remains firmly united and well-prepared to counter the ruling party's history of engineering political defections.
