Construction of Bisuhi River Bridge Crosses 60 Percent Completion, Set to Connect Three UP Districts by 2028

Ambedkarnagar :  Infrastructure development in the Katehari assembly constituency of Ambedkar Nagar has gained significant momentum with over 60 percent of the construction work completed on the strategic Bisuhi River Bridge. Formally sanctioned in December 2025, the double-lane bridge project is expected to be fully operational for vehicular traffic by January 1, 2028.

Constructed at an estimated cost of ₹15.69 crore along the Gosainganj-Bhiti-Mahrua-Dostpur route (Major District Road, Km 13), the 71-meter-long long-span bridge features a 7.5-meter wide carriageway. According to Rohit Agarwal, Project Manager at UP State Bridge Corporation Limited (Ayodhya), the foundational and sub-structural work has been successfully completed, and construction of the super-structure is currently underway. A total of ₹14.88 crore has been released for the project, with ₹7.25 crore already utilized.

Once completed, the modern bridge will dramatically enhance regional connectivity by significantly reducing travel time and distance between Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, and Sultanpur districts. The targeted completion deadline of December 31, 2027, remains on track, promising long-term economic growth, improved rural transit, and direct benefits to thousands of local residents and commuters.
