Himachal Education Minister Rohit Thakur inaugurates a new primary school building in Solang, strengthening rural educational infrastructure and student accessibility.
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) : In a significant stride toward bolstering educational infrastructure in the state's hinterlands, Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur recently visited the remote Solang gram panchayat within the Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai constituency. During his visit, the Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Government Primary School building, a project completed at a cost of ₹25 lakh to provide a modern and conducive learning environment for local children.
Addressing the local residents, Minister Thakur emphasized the state government’s unwavering commitment to extending development initiatives to the most inaccessible regions of Himachal. "This new facility is a testament to our focus on strengthening the educational foundation in rural areas, ensuring that students have access to quality infrastructure regardless of their geographic location," he stated.
The inauguration was part of a broader push for rural development in the region. The Minister highlighted several infrastructure milestones achieved in Solang, including the construction of the Nadli Sainj-Nagali Shashan road and various internal village connectivity projects totaling substantial investment. Furthermore, he noted that a total of ₹65 lakh has been allocated specifically for the repair and construction of school buildings within the panchayat to ensure student safety and comfort.
Beyond the school project, Minister Thakur updated the community on ongoing healthcare initiatives, including the development of a new Primary Health Centre in the adjoining Pandranu panchayat and an Ayurvedic Health Centre at Kuddu. By prioritizing both education and essential health services, the government aims to uplift the socio-economic conditions of remote Himalayan communities, transforming rural spaces into hubs of growth and opportunity.
