Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta inaugurates the Main Darbar Sahib in Fatehpur, celebrating the region's diverse spiritual heritage.
Fatehpur : Marking a significant moment for spiritual tourism and communal harmony, Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta inaugurated the newly constructed Main Darbar Sahib at Shri Sarv Dharma Peeth Taposthan, Gurdwara Shri Nanak Jyot Sahib, located in the Fatehpur region of Kangra district.
Addressing a large gathering of devotees and religious leaders, the Governor hailed the Sarv Dharma Peeth as a powerful beacon of India’s ancient spiritual heritage. He noted that the unique complex beautifully interweaves multiple faiths, housing the Shri Guru Granth Sahib, a temple dedicated to the divine mother, and a permanently lit Akhanda Jyot (eternal sacred flame). This coexistence, he stated, reflects the true spirit of secularism, where people of all backgrounds can seek peace without facing any discrimination.
Highlighting the rich history of the location, Governor Gupta mentioned that the site holds deep spiritual roots, believed to have served as a resting place for Guru Nanak Dev during his historic third Udasi (spiritual journey). The discovery of ancient religious artifacts, alongside a historic Nagni Mata temple and a sacred banyan tree, further cements its legacy as a long-standing center for profound meditation and worship. He highly commended Chief Sevadar Sant Baba Shri Lavpreet Ji Maharaj for his dedicated efforts in transforming the sacred site.
Coinciding with the Shaheedi Divas of Guru Arjan Dev, the Governor paid a solemn tribute to the fifth Sikh Guru, urging the public to follow his ideals of truth, sacrifice, and selfless service. Shifting focus to pressing contemporary issues, Governor Gupta also delivered a strong appeal against the rising menace of drug abuse among the state's youth. He emphasized that building a drug-free Himachal Pradesh requires urgent, coordinated action from families, schools, and religious institutions alike.000
