Delhi Lieutenant Governor Streamlines Pending Land Allotment To Fast Track Infrastructure

New Delhi :  In a major administrative push to upgrade public infrastructure and essential services in the national capital, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu cleared the allotment of land for several critical public projects. The long-pending allocations had previously faced significant delays due to a lack of inter-departmental coordination.

The Lieutenant Governor's direct intervention followed rigorous review meetings aimed at fostering seamless cooperation between the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and various executing ministries.

This policy bottleneck clearance effectively paves the way for vital urban developments spanning public safety, transit, healthcare, and education.Public transit and utility networks received an immediate boost with the allotment of 20 hectares of land to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) at Sanoth for a new metro depot, alongside 16 hectares at Narela for a casting yard. To aggressively tackle the city's seasonal water crises, the LG approved long-awaited clearances for 151 municipal borewells for the Delhi Jal Board, in addition to dedicated land parcels for setting up sewage treatment plants across eight distinct locations.

The national capital's security grid will also experience a major overhaul. Land has been officially sanctioned to construct new local police stations at Dilkusha Bagh, Sagarpur, Suyurpur, and Kishangarh. Furthermore, the allocation secures space for a high-tech Forensic Science Laboratory in Narela, as well as operational hubs for the Intelligence Bureau at Dheerpur and Tahirpur.Under public welfare and education,

the administration allocated over 22 acres to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and nearly 13 acres to Delhi Technological University to expand a mega educational hub in Narela

. Additionally, no-objection certificates were officially signed to set up 112 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and five affordable Atal Canteens, ensuring essential healthcare and subsidized meals reach Delhi's most vulnerable demographic segments smoothly.
