Only Scared People Leave the Party, Asserts Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow :  Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has delivered a biting response to Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar's bombshell claims of an impending split within his party. Rubbishing the speculation as a calculated distraction, Yadav asserted that the SP remains robustly unified and that any individuals exiting the camp would only be doing so out of sheer fear or personal greed.

The political showdown ignited after Rajbhar, a prominent NDA ally and chief of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), publicly alleged that the "entire SP is ready to join the BJP." Rajbhar even claimed that senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav had covertly submitted a list of potential defectors to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to escape tightening investigations into past mining and riverfront development scams.

Hitting back with composure during a press conference in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav dismissed the claims as a repetitive melody played by the ruling alliance. "How long will this story of inducements and praise continue?" Yadav asked poetically.

Addressing the core rumors of an internal rebellion, the SP chief stated, "Anyone who gets scared will leave their party. If we want to fight the BJP, we need a team of brave people."  Yadav turned the tables by claiming that the ruling party is actually the one facing internal instability, stating that several BJP MLAs in Uttar Pradesh are quietly prepared to switch sides. Furthermore, senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav strongly refuted Rajbhar’s narrative, challenging him to ask Amit Shah directly if any such letter exists, noting that "no one takes Rajbhar seriously."

The intense verbal warfare underscores the rapidly mounting political tensions in Uttar Pradesh as both the ruling NDA coalition and the principal opposition gear up early for the pivotal 2027 state assembly elections.
