Uttar Pradesh Approves Sixteen Industrial Zones Under Modern Hub And Spoke Architecture
Uttar Pradesh is launching 16 Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zones utilizing a dynamic nine-region hub-and-spoke model.
Lucknow: In a transformative push to blend industrial development with large-scale job creation, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved the first phase of the ambitious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zones (SVPEIZ) project.
Under this expansive initiative, the state will establish 16 integrated industrial and skill development complexes operated through a strategic nine-region hub-and-spoke network. Conceived in line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s economic vision, the model groups the state's 75 districts into nine distinct economic zones based on regional industrial traits and logistics advantages.
Key clusters include Gautam Buddh Nagar, the Ghaziabad-Meerut belt, Lucknow-Ayodhya, and the Kanpur-Prayagraj corridor. While the central "hubs" will focus on primary industrial sectors matching local resource availability, the extending "spokes" will tie in surrounding towns, ancillary production units, and localized training facilities to create a unified value chain.
Strategic Institutional Division:MSME & UPSIDA: Entrusted with developing 5 key centres each. UPEIDA & YEIDA: Managing the execution of 2 specialized zones each along expressways.GIDA & GNIDA: Responsible for setting up 1 dedicated regional centre each. Each SVPEIZ campus will offer a holistic ecosystem combining plug-and-play industrial plots, multi-storey flatted factories for space optimization, advanced digital literacy labs, and tool testing facilities.
To facilitate ease of doing business, the administration will formulate a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to oversee the management of each zone, with the area's lead private investor designated as its chairman. Construction is slated to begin immediately where land is readily available, running concurrent training programs to yield an industry-ready workforce the moment factories open.
