Ambedkar Nagar Host Joint Dairy and Animal Husbandry Workshop to Mark 50-Year Milestone of UP Dairy Department

Ambedkarnagar : To mark the 50th anniversary of the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development Department, a joint informational program was organized on Wednesday by the Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry Departments at the Vikas Bhawan Auditorium under the chairmanship of the Chief Development Officer (CDO).

During the event, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh briefed attending farmers, cattle rearers, and Self-Help Group (SHG) members on modern dairy techniques, fodder management, livestock disease control, and vaccination drives. Under the Chief Minister Indigenous Cow Promotion Scheme for the 2026–27 financial year, selected beneficiaries received their authorization and selection letters directly from the CDO.

The program featured a virtual address by Dairy Commissioner Dhan Lakshmi K. Participants were also shown documentary short films via Zoom highlighting the 50-year journey of the state's Dairy Development Department alongside educational guides on livestock disease prevention.

Expert insights were shared by Dr. Ramjeet, Senior Scientist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Pati), who detailed proper cattle care, balanced feeding strategies, and epidemic control. Additionally, the District Development Officer and Lead District Manager (LDM) educated attendees on agricultural loans and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facilities, while Senior Milk Inspector Dhruvraj Verma outlined various state-run dairy welfare schemes.

Concluding the session, the CDO urged farmers to maximize their participation in government welfare initiatives and directed department officers to ensure effective execution across the district.
