Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Inaugurates Multi Crore Power Substation
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu virtually inaugurated a seven crore rupee power substation to resolve local low-voltage issues.
Shimla : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu virtually inaugurated a newly constructed 33/11 kV power substation at Patlander (Ansla), built at a total cost of 7.54 crore rupees. The infrastructure development is slated to upgrade local energy distribution in the Sujanpur Assembly constituency of Hamirpur district.
Addressing the virtual gathering from the State Secretariat, Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted that a 7.2-kilometer-long 33 kV high-tension transmission line was laid from Chabutra to Ansla to secure a robust energy supply. The developmental project will directly address long-standing regional grievances regarding frequent power failures, voltage drops, and weak line capacities.
This facility will secure better quality, uninterrupted electricity for approximately 14,000 residents distributed across 16 local Gram Panchayats.
To shield the agrarian communities from blackout crises during harsh weather, the facility links efficiently with the 11 kV Kot Chauri, Sujanpur, Patlander, and Palai distribution feeders. Additionally, emergency structural ties have been integrated into neighboring backup substations at Tauni Devi and Sujanpur to ensure seamless supply alternatives if unexpected system failures crop up on the main grid. Shortened transmission pathways are also designed to reduce localized energy line losses.
The Chief Minister noted that although he initially intended to visit the district to lead the project opening on the ground, ongoing heavy monsoon downpours necessitated the shift to a virtual inauguration format. He reiterated his administration’s firm commitment to ensuring balanced infrastructure growth across the state's rural terrains.
Local MLA Ranjit Singh Rana expressed immense gratitude toward the state government, noting that the timely funding injection effectively answers the long-term domestic and commercial power requirements of the growing hill sub-division.
