New industrial policy to promote ease of doing business, says Chief Minister

Himachal :  In a major push to transform the state into a global investment hub, the Chief Minister announced the rollout of a comprehensive new industrial policy. The policy primarily focuses on enhancing the ease of doing business, streamlining administrative clearances, and attracting high-value investments across multiple sectors. Speaking at an industrial conclave, the CM emphasized that the state is shifting from a traditional regulatory framework to a highly proactive, facilitator-driven ecosystem.

A cornerstone of this new policy is the complete digitization of the regulatory pipeline. The government intends to phase out physical paperwork by upgrading the existing single-window clearance portal into an AI-powered system. This upgrade will ensure that land allotments, environmental clearances, and utility connections are granted within fixed, legally mandated timelines. By eliminating bureaucratic red tape, the state aims to offer a predictable and transparent environment for both domestic and international investors.

"Our goal is not just to invite industries, but to partner in their long-term growth. This policy eliminates unnecessary bottlenecks and ensures that businesses can go from proposal to production in record time," the Chief Minister stated.

Beyond simplifying procedures, the policy introduces lucrative fiscal incentives, including capital subsidies, stamp duty exemptions, and power tariff rebates for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Special focus has been placed on sustainable development, with additional perks reserved for green manufacturing units and tech-driven startups. Industry leaders have widely welcomed the announcement, noting that these reforms will significantly lower operational costs and generate thousands of local employment opportunities.
