Urmila Matondkar’s Ex-Husband Mohsin Akhtar Marries Nidhaa Bhatt

Mumbai:  Kashmiri businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir has officially entered a new chapter in his personal life. Nearly two years after his highly publicized separation from Bollywood star Urmila Matondkar, Mohsin took to social media on Sunday to announce his second marriage to Nidhaa Bhatt, sharing glimpses from their intimate traditional Nikaah ceremony.  

The low-profile wedding celebrations were attended exclusively by close family members and friends. The couple opted for elegant, matching traditional attire for their nuptials; Mohsin wore a cream-white floral embroidered sherwani, while his bride, Nidhaa, complemented him beautifully in an off-white, heavily embellished golden sharara set paired with a sheer veil.

Social media snapshots showed the couple partaking in traditional marriage rituals, cutting a wedding cake, and exchanging rings during the private gathering.  Alongside the wedding photographs, Mohsin penned a deeply emotional note reflecting on faith, patience, and new beginnings. He expressed profound gratitude to his new wife for bringing light and positivity back into his life, citing the importance of pure intentions and trusting the divine timeline.

He also dedicated a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, affectionately calling her 'Mouji,' stating that he felt her maternal blessings guiding his happiness from the other side.  Mohsin was previously married to Rangeela actor Urmila Matondkar. The former couple tied the knot in February 2016 in a private interfaith ceremony after originally meeting at a social gathering hosted by celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra.

Their nearly decade-long union drew widespread public attention due to their distinct backgrounds and a ten-year age difference. However, the relationship soured over time, leading Urmila to formally file for divorce in a Mumbai family court in September 2024. While the actress has remained silent regarding her ex-husband's remarriage, congratulatory messages from well-wishers continue to pour in for the newlyweds.
