Salman Khan Films Dismisses Reports Claiming CBFC Certification Hurdles For Maatrubhumi

Mumbai : Production house Salman Khan Films (SKF) has officially dismissed circulating media reports claiming that its highly anticipated war drama, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, has run into severe hurdles with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Issuing an official statement on social media, the banner clarified that the movie has not even been submitted to the censor board yet, rendering all speculation about a clearance ban entirely baseless.  The production house broke its silence after several reports suggested the film would miss its proposed August release because the CBFC had allegedly withheld its clearance certificate over geopolitical sensitivities. "Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification," the official statement read, urging media outlets and fans to refrain from circulating unverified updates.  Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film stars megastar Salman Khan in the lead role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the courageous commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who laid down his life during the intense 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The project, which also features Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role, was originally titled Battle of Galwan and scheduled for an April theatrical release before undergoing a creative title change and subsequent postponement.  While speculation remains high regarding the film's official rollout timeline, the producers maintained that all authentic updates regarding the distribution and cinematic release of Maatrubhumi will only be shared through the authorized digital channels of Salman Khan Films.
