Fresh Video Surfaces Showing Delhi Police Officer Chased And Assaulted By Aggressive Street Protesters

New Delhi : Tension escalated in the national capital after fresh video footage surfaced on social media depicting a Delhi Police officer being chased and physically assaulted by a crowd of unruly demonstrators during recent street protests. The viral clip, which sparked widespread outrage and security concerns, shows security personnel attempting to maintain order before being overwhelmed and targeted by aggressive protesters.

According to police sources, the incident occurred during a high-decibel demonstration where barricades were breached and clashes broke out between law enforcement forces and protesting groups. In the footage, a uniformed officer is seen attempting to retreat while surrounded by an angry mob, several of whom chased him down the thoroughfare and subjected him to physical violence before reinforcement units intervened to control the chaotic situation.

Reacting to the viral visual evidence, senior officers of the Delhi Police confirmed that a meticulous investigation has been initiated to identify all individuals featured in the recording. Investigators are actively scanning over 250 pieces of digital evidence, including CCTV feeds, mobile recordings, body-camera footage, and drone captures, to trace those responsible for incitement and assault on public servants.

A formal case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) covering rioting, obstructing public servants from discharging duty, and criminal force has been registered at the local police station. Law enforcement authorities emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators to uphold the rule of law. Meanwhile, security measures across key administrative zones, including central Delhi and parliamentary corridors, have been substantially reinforced to prevent further flare-ups.
