LUCKNOW- The Congress party has announced a massive nationwide agitation titled 'MGNREGA Bachao Sangram' from January 10 to February 25. The protest aims to oppose the recently passed VB-G RAM G Act, which replaces the historic Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
Senior leaders KC Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh slammed the Centre for "centralizing" power and diluting the Right to Work. Congress alleges that the new Act ends the demand-driven employment model and places an unfair 60:40 financial burden on state governments.
