‘Calendar’ Set to Redefine Women-Centric Narratives: Trailer Debuts in Mumbai

Mumbai : The heart of Bollywood witnessed a refreshing cinematic introduction today as the team behind the upcoming film “Calendar” gathered for a high-profile press conference. Produced under the Running Horse Creations banner, this Kannada-original film is gearing up for a grand pan-India Hindi release, aiming to bridge cultural gaps with its universal storytelling.

The project is the brainchild of Adarsh Gunduraj, a Chartered Accountant turned filmmaker and actor, affectionately known by fans as the “Smiling Star.” Having previously led two films as a hero, Gunduraj takes on a multifaceted role here as the lead actor, producer, and story writer.

"With 'Calendar,' we wanted to move beyond traditional tropes. It’s a story rooted in the emotional rhythms of womanhood, designed to foster empathy and spark conversations that are often left in the shadows of our daily lives," Gunduraj shared during the event.

The film boasts an impressive technical pedigree. Directed by Naveen Shakthi, the narrative is visually captured by cinematographer Ramesh Koira and tightened by editor Suresh Arumugam. Adding a layer of intensity to the drama, the action sequences are choreographed by National Award winner Vikram Mor, renowned for his high-octane work on KGF and Kantara. The soulful soundscape of the film is credited to composer Sunaad Gowtham.

  • Ensemble Excellence
“Calendar” features a rich tapestry of talent, bringing together a diverse ensemble cast:
  • Adarsh Gunduraj & Gurunandan
  • Malashri & Ramesh Indira
  • Prakash Thuminadu & Suchendraprasad
  • Sushmitha Nayak, Nivishka Patil, and Amrutha

The film’s distribution is being handled by the industry titan VK Films (Vijay Kiragandur Films), ensuring a robust theatrical presence across the country.

Co-produced by Shiv Pradeep and co-directed by Mahantesh R, “Calendar” is more than just a movie; it is an exploration of the intricate cycles of life and relationships. As the curtains rose on the trailer today, the buzz in Mumbai suggested that audiences are ready for a narrative that balances social relevance with engaging entertainment.
