Nano Fertilizers: The Future of Indian Agriculture, Says IFFCO State Manager Yatendra Kumar Tewatia

Prayagraj : In a significant move toward modernizing traditional farming, a 'Kisan Chaupal' (Farmer's Meeting) was organized in the Safkhanpur village assembly on Saturday. The event focused on the pivotal role of technology in agriculture, specifically highlighting the benefits of smart nano fertilizers.

Addressing the gathering, Yatendra Kumar Tewatia, IFFCO State Marketing Manager (Uttar Pradesh), emphasized that Nano fertilizers are exceptionally useful for Indian soil. He urged farmers to shift away from indiscriminate chemical usage and instead adopt a balanced fertilization approach based on scientific soil testing.

The Chaupal went beyond crops to discuss holistic rural development:

Value Addition: Mr. Tewatia encouraged women farmers to explore food processing. By creating value-added products, he noted, they could transform household farming into a sustainable source of independent income.

Biological Solutions: Dr. D.K. Singh, Principal of CORDET, provided in-depth insights into bio-fertilizers and bio-decomposers. He addressed various farming challenges, offering practical solutions to improve crop yield while maintaining soil health.

The program was presided over by progressive farmer B.D. Singh, who noted that local farmers are already reaping profits by following CORDET’s scientific advice. He requested more frequent training sessions to keep the community updated on global agricultural trends.

In a gesture of social welfare, free blankets were distributed to the farmers to provide relief from the biting cold. The event saw participation from Village Head Jitendra Kumar Patel, CORDET's Sumit Tewatia, and IFFCO center in-charge Aman Singh, alongside a large number of local farmers including Anara Devi and Ram Sajeevan. The session was coordinated by IRDP In-charge Rajesh Kumar Singh.
