NHM Leadership Evaluates Kalakankar CHC; GM Directs Further Improvement in Healthcare Services
GM-NHM Dr. Manoj Shukla inspects Kalakankar CHC; reviews RBSK progress and directs improvements in medicine storage and hygiene.
In-Depth Facility Audit
The inspection team meticulously toured several key departments to ensure they met the required medical standards. Key areas reviewed included:
- Maternal Care: The labor room and delivery wards were assessed for hygiene and equipment readiness.
- Pharmacy Operations: The team scrutinized the medicine distribution counter and storage facilities to ensure the availability of essential drugs.
- Administrative Compliance: Records, registers, and the logbooks of hospital vehicles were cross-checked for accuracy.
Medical Officer Dr. Rajiv Dwivedi, Block Community Process Manager Pramod Kumar Maurya, and Block Program Manager Urmila Devi assisted the visiting team throughout the process.
A significant portion of the review was dedicated to the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). The officials evaluated the progress of child health screenings and the subsequent management of identified health conditions. While the overall cleanliness of the campus was found to be satisfactory, Dr. Shukla issued strict instructions to maintain even higher standards of sanitation to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
Strengthening Local Healthcare
The visit is part of a broader push by the health department to ensure that rural health centers are operating at peak efficiency. The NHM team emphasized the need for "quality over quantity" in patient care and urged local staff to stay updated with the latest health protocols.
Following the inspection, the team departed for Prayagraj to participate in a high-level review meeting chaired by the Additional Secretary of Health, where findings from the Kalakankar visit are expected to be discussed.
