Prayagraj : The Taj Mansingh Hotel recently transformed into a hub of cultural and diplomatic synergy as the High Commission of the Republic of South Africa celebrated the 30th anniversary of South Africa’s Independence. The evening, hosted by High Commissioner H.E. Prof. Anil Sooklal and Dr. Nelistra Sooklal Singh, served as a tribute to the nation’s journey of reconciliation and democratic transformation.
The highlight of the evening was the formal unveiling of a profound painting titled "Be the Change You Want to See – Mahatma Gandhi," created by renowned contemporary artist and civil servant Ashima Mehrotra.
- The artwork features a powerful trinity of global icons:
- Mahatma Gandhi: Representing non-violence (Ahimsa) and truth.
- Nelson Mandela: Symbolizing resilience and the legacy of reconciliation.
- Martin Luther King Jr.: Embodying the vision of equality and justice.

- Anil George: Veteran Bollywood actor.
- Global Diplomats: Ambassadors and representatives from various nations.
