NTPC Tanda : A Grand Fusion of Literature, Drama, and Student Creativity

Ambedkar nagar : The Dalimss Sunbeam Auditorium at the NTPC Tanda complex in Ambedkar Nagar witnessed a grand convergence of literature, art, and theatre on August 27, 2026, as the multi-day event 'Sahitya Sangam' came to a memorable conclusion. The grand finale highlighted the multi-faceted creative talent, dramatic excellence, and linguistic skills of students, leaving the audience deeply moved.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Ganesh Vandana performed by guests and dignitaries. The stage performances began with a theatrical adaptation of Jagdish Chandra Mathur’s classic play, Reedh Ki Haddi (Spine). Through sharp dialogue delivery and expressive acting, the young performers questioned rigid social stereotypes and patriarchal mindsets. Following this, Class XI students staged a thought-provoking street play titled Katghare Mein Hindi (Hindi in the Dock), sparking conversations on the social standing, identity, and current challenges faced by the Hindi language.

The event featured impressive linguistic diversity, including English poetry recitations and an English stage play by Class VIII students. A major highlight was a silent play (Mime) on the Indian epic Mahabharata presented by Class XII students. Relying entirely on facial expressions, symbolic choreography, and synchronization, the performance beautifully captured the philosophy of the epic without speaking a single word. Meanwhile, junior school children captivated the hall with a lively and colorful 'Vocabulary Parade'.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Chief Guest Mr. Praman Srivastava (Bureau Chief, Amar Ujala), Mrs. Dali Arora, Mr. Yash Sonkar (PRO, NTPC), and Mr. Vivek Srivastava (HR Representative, NTPC). In his key address, Mr. Srivastava commended the institution, noting that literature is not merely entertainment but a vital tool to refine human values and nurture responsible citizens. Concluding the event, Principal Mr. Sumit Arora delivered the vote of thanks, describing Sahitya Sangam as a transformative journey designed to sharpen students' imagination, empathy, and cultural consciousness.
