VARANASI- The Uttar Pradesh Police have intensified their crackdown on an international codeine-based cough syrup racket, doubling the reward for mastermind Shubham Jaiswal to Rs 50,000. Authorities have issued lookout notices to prevent Jaiswal and his three associates from fleeing the country.
DCP Gaurav Banswal confirmed that the suspects utilized forged documents and shell companies to facilitate large-scale illegal trade. The Special Investigation Team is currently tracing financial links, while police remain on high alert at all airports to apprehend the absconding fugitives.
