#Airtel Reinforces 'Customer-First' Culture with Massive Nationwide Field Initiative
Airtel’s 20,000 employees hit the field for Customer Day 2026, prioritizing direct feedback to revolutionize consumer service and experience.
Lucknow : Bharti Airtel today observed 'Customer Day 2026,' a massive organizational movement designed to bridge the gap between corporate strategy and ground-level consumer experience. In an unprecedented move, nearly 20,000 employees—ranging from senior leadership to functional experts—stepped out of their offices to engage directly with the frontline ecosystem.
The initiative saw Airtel’s corporate workforce shadow field engineers, visit residential and commercial hubs, and man retail service centers. By interacting directly with consumers in their own environments, the company aims to capture "unfiltered" feedback to eliminate service friction and enhance large-scale problem-solving.
A Focus on Direct Engagement
Unlike traditional feedback loops, Customer Day serves as a moment of organizational introspection. The goal is to identify pain points that often get lost in data reports. Employees gained first-hand insights into:
- The efficiency of home installations and broadband troubleshooting.
- The retail experience at physical touchpoints.
- The specific connectivity needs of diverse customer segments across Lucknow and beyond.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the initiative, Shashwat Sharma, Managing Director and CEO of Airtel India, emphasized that the day is a reminder of the brand’s core responsibility.
"Customer Day reinforces our commitment to listening intently, challenging ourselves to improve, and acting with agility. It strengthens our resolve to simplify services and elevate the standard of care we provide to millions of customers every single day," Sharma stated.
By institutionalizing this culture of empathy and direct action, Airtel is pivoting from a service provider to a customer-obsessed partner, ensuring that every technological advancement is backed by a seamless user experience.
