ITANAGAR- The Indian Army is set to lead a historic expedition to the sacred 'Topo Gone' peak in Arunachal Pradesh's Shi Yomi district from January 19 to 24. Standing at 2,900 meters near the McMahon Line, the peak holds immense spiritual significance for the indigenous Galo community.
Organized alongside the Galo Welfare Society, the 24-member team includes four women participants. This journey aims to revive ancient pilgrimage traditions and strengthen the bond between the armed forces and local tribes, while showcasing the region’s rich cultural folklore and challenging Himalayan terrain.
